You may be surprised to learn that cemeteries differ in many ways that impact you and your memorial. The more you know about these differences, the easier it will be for you to select a cemetery and work with them in a way that best supports your memorial preferences.
The interactive map and alphabetized list below includes 40+ Cleveland-area cemeteries, providing information to help you make the right decision for you and your family.
We’ve worked with hundreds of cemeteries across the region, and are well-versed in the differences between each of them, even if they’re not listed below.

In this Guide:
Two Cemetery Differences: Memorial Rules and Costs
Each cemetery has unique characteristics that greatly impact families. Unexpected fees can catch families by surprise and memorial rules can inhibit your memorial selection.
1. Memorial Rules and Regulations
Most cemeteries regulate the headstones placed on graves within their grounds. Because each cemetery has different requirements, we put together this list to help you prepare and better understand what's possible.
Our interactive map and list provide memorial design rules and regulations for 40+ of the most visited cemeteries in Northeast Ohio. It helps ensure your memorial complies with regulations at your local cemetery.
If your cemetery is not listed, or you have additional questions about what’s permitted in a certain cemetery, please contact us or call us at (216) 362-1199.
2. Memorial Setting Costs and Fees
In addition to different memorial restrictions, the cost to place a memorial can differ significantly from one cemetery to another, even in the same city or county. This placement cost is called a setting fee, and typically covers the memorial’s foundation and often includes other services (i.e. setting of the memorial after delivery, maintenance of the cemetery grounds, and perpetual care).
The interactive map and list below includes publicly available information about each cemetery’s memorial fees based on standard memorial sizes and styles.
After reviewing the provided materials, we highly encourage working with a third party. Working with someone outside of the cemetery, such as a memorial provider, can help you compare options and make the best decision for your interests and priorities.
How to Use the Interactive Map
Each cemetery is marked by a red, blue or green pin. The pin color indicates if the cemetery allows granite or bronze, and if all sizes are allowed:
- A blue pin indicates that both granite and bronze are permitted and that all sizes are permitted (depending on the section of the cemetery).
- A red pin means that granite is permitted at the cemetery and that bronze is not. At these cemeteries, all sizes are permitted (depending on the section of the cemetery).
- A green pin is for cemeteries that don’t fall into either of these categories. Click to see exact rules and regulations.
*If a cemetery is listed as allowing “all sizes,” note that this depends on the plot’s location and section in a cemetery and how many graves you own. Different rules may apply depending on the size.
Additionally, for each cemetery, we’ve provided publicly available information about setting fees, based on standard memorial sizes. Note that these prices are subject to change at the cemetery’s discretion. For the latest information or to have a memorial specialist walk you through the fees, please contact us or call us at (216) 362-1199.
Click on a cemetery icon on the map to see the description, rules and regulations, and costs. You can also review the cemeteries alphabetically by referring to the list included below the map.
